Getting Started with Mobile CBVI (Cone-Beam Volumetric Imaging)
1. Complete referral forms
2. Call 3DImaging of the CSRA to schedule appointment
(by patient or by your office staff)
3. Fax/Email the completed referral form
4. Mobile unit will come to your office where the patient is scanned approximately 15 minutes before patient appointment
5. If requested, we will convert CT data to DICOM format. Otherwise 3DImaging of the CSRA will complete the consultative images and deliver CD ROM containing viewing software to your practice the day of patients scan.
*The doctor receives scan information (full volume) with viewing software on a CD, which allows you to create any view for treatment planning at anytime. These CBVI files can be converted to DICOM files and used with any viewing or treatment planning software including:
Easy Guide
Anatomage
NobelGuide
SimPlant
Nobel
6. Payment to be made on day of scan by referring physician
PATIENT DAY OF SCAN
Please request that the patient arrive at your office at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled scan time. Because we are a mobile unit, we will need all appointments to take place promptly so that we will be able to make it to the next appointment in a timely fashion.
Payment for all scans is due at the time the scan is taken. We will accept payment from your office or the patient via a check, credit card or cash. Please inform the patient in advance if they will be responsible for payment.
The patient will remain fully clothed during the procedure, as it is only a scan of their head and neck. The patient will NOT need to refrain from eating or drinking, and NO shots or liquids will be given prior to the scan. Scan time ranges from 17-24 seconds. The patient must remove all metal from their head and neck. This includes, but is not limited to: metal dentures, glasses, and jewelry (including tongue rings).
Our radiology technologist will enter your office and approach the front desk before taking the patient to be scanned. If any paperwork needs to be collected or filled out, we will inform your office prior to the scan. The doctor or office staff may be present for the scan if they wish.
From start to finish, the whole process should take less than 30 minutes. The images will be made accessible promptly for the doctor. In some cases however, the images may not be available immediately. Both a CD-ROM and printed images of the scan will be available at no additional cost.
